Why support Musica Orbium?
Musica Orbium regularly hires local professional singers, soloists and musicians as well as promising young talent to deliver the works on our program. Some of our collaborators are already on the road to successful careers, thanks in part to the professional development opportunities offered by ensembles such as ours.
Whether we're rendering J.S. Bach's sumptuous
B minor Mass, which was honored by the Conseil des arts de Montréal, Monteverdi's
1610 Vespers or J.S. Bach's inspiring
St. Matthew Passion, it goes without saying that some of our concerts are very expensive to produce.
Musica Orbium is recognized for its contribution to the Montreal and Quebec music scene. Each season, we present at least two major concerts of choral music from repertoires that are often original or rarely performed. We are also keen to give pride of place to works by contemporary and Canadian composers.
It's thanks to the generosity of our community that we're able to do this at a price our audiences can afford, providing them with access to music that's inspiring, educational and enriching.
