Musica Orbium is always interested in new members who share our love of high caliber, non-traditional choral programming. We have a short rehearsal schedule before our twice yearly concerts. Rehearsals focus on interpretation and musical expression, which requires all singers to prepare their parts independently in advance. Given the short rehearsal schedule, regular attendance is essential for the high level of excellence that we strive for.

Rehearsals take place at CACUM, 1210 Sherbrooke East, on Saturday mornings from 9:30-12:30. 2009-2010 Membership fees for choristers are $160.

Auditions are held annually in late August or early September, although it is possible to schedule individual auditions at any time.

For your audition, prepare a short song of your choice – an aria, popular song, folk song, hymn, etc.
(either a cappella or with piano accompaniment). The audition will also involve sight reading of a selection of different choral pieces, as well as specific vocal tests of your range, timbre, and intonation.
